Volunteer Preferences

It is helpful for us to know where you want to serve, so don't be afraid of having a preference. Volunteers usually serve once or twice a month, at the same service, with the same team of volunteers. All children's ministry volunteering happens during the 10am service.

We may not have open volunteer slots on your preferred week of the month, but it is still helpful to know your preference if you have one.

Depending on our needs at the time of your application, we may place you with a different age group from your preference. It is still helpful to know where you feel most comfortable so that we can work together to place you there!

References

List two references (must be at least 18 years old) you have known for at least one year, who are not related to you, and who have knowledge of your character and potential ability to work with children. Upon completing this application, we will email your references a Google form to fill out their reference.

Spiritual Formation Questions

Character Formation Questions

Our goal is to provide a safe and secure environment for our children. We appreciate your honesty and cooperation in answering the following questions. All information will be held strictly confidential by the Redeemer Downtown Children's Ministry staff. Answering “yes” will not preclude you from serving in Children’s Ministry unless the staff determines it would cause unnecessary stress to the children. At the bottom of the application, you are welcome to provide more information about your answer to any of these questions.

We believe that sex is a gift from God to be expressed in marriage between a man and woman, by which we declare to a spouse that we belong and are committed completely and exclusively to them. On that basis we believe that sex outside of marriage is unbiblical and that living with someone with whom you are romantically involved and yet to whom you are not married is unwise. Can you give your assent to those beliefs? Can you confirm that you are committed to living out these beliefs in accordance with God’s word and that you are currently doing so?

Once you have submitted this form, a member of the children's ministry staff team will follow up with you via email about next steps!
